ASRC Federal System Solutions supports the FAA NAS ESS (Federal Aviation Administration National Airspace System Engineering Support Services) contract. We want you to join our growing team as a Computer Scientist Level 2 in support of the FAA’s NAS Engineering Support team. This team creates new applications and supports existing Java web and desktop based software, to support the FAA’s Second Level Engineering organization.
Performing research, design, development, testing, evaluation and maintenance of integrated software systems.
Managing software, utilizing the Git version control system.
Working well in a team environment, while teleworking or in person, collaborating with users and developing requirements.

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required
Excellent written and spoken communication including the development of technical documentation
Ability to pass an FAA background investigation (US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required)
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Mathematics is required. In lieu of the Computer Science or Mathematics degree, a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science may be substituted.
3-7 years of software experience required for this Level 2 position.
Minimum of 3 years experience writing Java applications and using Oracle databases.
Proficiency with computer operating systems, software and hardware with proven ability to debug complex systems.
Knowledge and understanding of the importance of testing during all phases of the software development process.
Working knowledge of UNIX and UNIX-like Operating Systems.
Experience with NAS facilities, systems, and equipment is desirable.
