The Transmission Foreman is a working foreman responsible for the oversight of all aspects of each project, to include the installation, construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead power distribution lines. This position is generally assigned to a specific project.
Responsibilities of a Transmission Foreman include, but are not limited to:
Oversee crew by coordinating and assigning tasks, monitoring work, training and mentoring.
Monitor safety and productivity of crewmembers.
Responsible for the productivity and progress of schedule and performance of the project.
Read and interpret site plans, construction drawings, schedules, and scopes of work.
Ensure efficient use of materials and equipment.
Responsible for training and development of the crew.
Encourage and mentor crewmembers to acquire licenses, certifications or other training opportunities.
Document all performance concerns and recommend and implement corrective actions as needed.
Operate, inspect, and maintain bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavation equipment, and other equipment.
Conduct safety tailgate meetings with crew, complete all required paperwork, JSA's, incident reports, vehicle inspections, and safety reports.
Understand and enforce DOT and OSHA standards, as well as company-specific standards.
Keep labor, location and material records.
Maintain and submit timesheets and job reports.
