Job Title – PPM Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location – Oldham, Greater Manchester

Salary – £45,121

Shift – 2pm–10pm

This role is heavily focused on planned preventative maintenance (PPM), making it ideal for a hands‑on engineer who enjoys maintaining machinery reliability, improving equipment performance, and working in a structured maintenance environment.

You will be responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance and repairs across a wide range of bakery and packaging machinery, ensuring smooth production and minimal downtime.

Sector – Factory Maintenance

• Time‑served, apprentice‑trained Engineer (4‑year apprenticeship)

• Strong mechanical fault‑finding skills
• Experience working on conveyors, mixers, depositors, and packaging machinery
• Knowledge of bearings, shafts, rotating equipment, and gearboxes
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals
• Experience working within time constraints to maintain production efficiency

• Experience with in food manufacturing or FMCG environments
• Basic electrical fault‑finding capability
• Experience working with robotic or automated machinery

• Working for a long‑established and stable manufacturing business
• Structured shift pattern with good work‑life balance (10 on, 4 off)
