Uses predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications to inspect visually in-process and completed Cables Inspections. Uses various measuring devices. Accepts, rejects, or reworks defective or malfunctioning units or systems. Works from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometres, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Has the willingness and ability to perform assembly tasks related to assigned inspection areas if needed.

Experience with Cables and able to identify non-conformances IAW IPC-A-620, & specific other requirements. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Communicates effectively with assemblers, engineers, and management when resolving quality issues. This includes detail-orientation and proficiency at interpreting drawings, diagrams, parts lists, IPC manuals, revision control, reference documents and work instructions. Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Interfaces effectively and diplomatically with assemblers, test technicians, engineers, customers, and management when resolving quality issues. Proficiency with using Personal Computers and newer applications.

Technician Spec / First Article Inspector (FAI) - Uses predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to inspect visually in-process and completed products such as electronic units and subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies or mechanical units, sub-assemblies, structural flaws and internal defects. Uses various measuring devices. Accepts, rejects, or supports rework of defective or malfunctioning units or systems. Works from blueprints, diagrams, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawings or inspection instructions and checklists.

With this information and skill set the individual will complete first article documentation in accordance with AS9102 requirements. Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and computer system navigation is required. Must have IPC
610/J-STD, IPC
620 experience and strong knowledge is required. Additionally, excellent communication ability is required. Quality certifications such as ASQ, CMI or CQT is a plus.
