Salary: $7,010.00 - $9,429.00 Monthly

We are seeking an excellent communicator with strong customer service skills to join our Information Technology Division as an IT Network & Telecoms Administrator – Journey.

Responsibilities

Local and Wide Area Network Support:

  • Fully support, configure, maintain and upgrade local and wide area network environments.
  • Coordinate and negotiate WAN circuit upgrades, downgrades, migrations based on agency business needs.
  • Configure and operate protocol independent multicast (PIM) and Internet group management protocol (IGMP) for Radio over IP services.
  • Configure and operate multiple dynamic routing protocols.
  • Work independently with other teams and/or vendors to document, implement and maintain network infrastructure.
  • Assist in implementation and security solutions within enterprise network best practices.

Next Generation Firewall Support:

  • Serve as a technical resource for the agency NGFW solution.
  • Monitor, analyze, and evaluate anomalous network and system activity and provide recommended remediation actions.
  • Process firewall policy changes based on agency business requirements.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of NGFW environment.

Wireless Local Area Network Support:

  • Serve as a technical resource for the agency WLAN environment.
  • Purchase, license, configure, and deploy wireless access points.
  • Assist in the upgrade and future replacement of the WLAN environment.
Required Qualifications
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4 years of relevant professional IT Network & Telecommunications experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Experience working with a medium or large-sized organization in network, communications, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience in creating detailed technical documentation and procedures.

  • Office Environment:
    Duty station is the NRB Building in Olympia, WA; hybrid telework arrangements eligible with supervisor approval.
  • Travel Requirements:
    Occasional.

  • Accustomed to IT industry standards and best practices.
  • Certifications:

    CCNA, CCNP, CCENT/CCT, CCDP, CCDE, CCIE, A+, Security+, Network+.
  • Experience with Cisco, HPE, Aruba, Palo Alto, Solarwinds Orion APM, NPM, NCM, NTA, IPAM, Netflow services.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology.
