POSTING FOR UNMC EMPLOYEES ONLY. This 24‑month term position is responsible for the safe, efficient, and proper operation of all equipment associated with the utility plant and distribution system serving the UNMC /Neb Med campus. The successful candidate will also direct and train new employees in the utility department.

• Operate industrial control systems safely and efficiently.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on utility equipment.
• Direct and train new utility department employees.
• Maintain functional understanding of utility mechanical systems operation and maintenance.

• High school education or equivalent (or five years post‑high school vocational technical trade program experience at UNMC).
• Five years of facilities plant specific experience at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
• Valid City of Omaha 3rd, 2nd, or 1st Grade Stationary Engineer license.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and UNMC Utility Plant Control Systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
• Knowledge of industrial control systems, utility mechanical systems operation and maintenance.
• Experience operating industrial control systems.

• Relevant coursework or specialized training from technical school, trade school, community college, apprenticeship program, or related education program.

Salary Grade FP18H | Hourly $29.18–$46.68.
