Reconstructing Judaism seeks a full-time Bookkeeper for its rabbinical college and movement headquarters. Reporting dually to the Director of Operations and to the Controller of Reconstructing Judaism, this position encompasses an array of finance and accounting duties such as accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger accounts reconciliation, payroll, and charitable gift entry. The ideal candidate can thrive in a deadline driven environment, is able to maintain focus amidst frequent interruptions, has impeccable attention to detail, and brings a high degree of accuracy, honesty, and confidentiality to their work.
This roleprovidesthe opportunity for a hybrid work schedule with a minimum of three days per week inour
Wyncote, PA office and the rest remote.
- Accounts Payable with approvals.
- Bank Reconciliations
- Monthly payroll as support to the controller on timesheets Q/C and other related tasks
- Facilitating month-end and year-end closing
- Year-end distribution of 1099s, 1098
Ts and W2s - Supporting the audit process
- Posting and adjusting GL and journal entries as directed
- Credit card reconciliation and coding (payments and receivables)
- Accounts Receivables including tuition receivables (cross check with Populi), dues receivables
- Providing excellent internal customer service on behalf of finance and accounting team to all areas of the organization
- Office functions such as scanning & depositing checks
- Tracking sales and calculating royalties
- Other duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications- 4 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit environment; or a combination of relevant degree and experience
- Proficient in Excel (must be able to pass online skillsassessmentsfor MS Office programs and accounting knowledge as part of the hiring process)
- Experience with Financial Edge/Raiser’s Edge or similar software
- Payroll software experience
- com or other online bill payment software experience
- Ability to communicate clearly with tact and professionalism, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to meet deadlines, self-motivate and track tasks
- Ability to think critically, troubleshoot and resolve problems
- Organized and attentive to detail
- Ability to retain information and master new skills quickly
Ability to self-train and to learn new technology
$55,000-$60,000 commensurate with experience and credentials

This is a full-time, non-exempt, benefit eligible position. Following a three-month period of successful training and onboarding, a hybrid schedule including working from home up to two days a week will be available.
