Senior Engineering Manager, Messaging Channels

As Senior Engineering Manager for the Messaging Channels team at Postscript, you will lead a team of 8 product and platform engineers who own the messaging backbone used by all Postscript products. The team is responsible for: (1)
Flow Builder
, Postscript s automation product to orchestrate customer journeys; (2) the high-volume SMS campaign send engine
; (3) the messaging platform and infrastructure that other products rely on; and (4)
expansion into new channels that meet merchants wherever their customers are. The team runs its own on-call rotation and maintains a high standard of operational rigor.

The backend is primarily Python within an AWS architecture, with select services in Go, backed by Kafka, Postgres, and Mongo

DB. The role focuses on leadership, people management, and delivery/execution duties, with responsibilities including managing performance and ensuring alignment with scalability needs of high-volume messaging at ecommerce scale.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience leading both senior IC engineers and managers of smaller teams, a passion for operational excellence, high-volume distributed systems, internal platforms, and delivering business value. Exposure to AI-powered product surfaces is a plus. Channels is the foundation for many of Postscript s AI products.

This is a fully remote position based in the US or Canada.
