Our client, a CPG based company, is looking to hire a results-driven Director of Sales to lead the expansion of our professional hair care brands within travel retail channels, including airports, cruise lines, and border duty-free environments. The successful candidate will develop and execute strategic plans to enhance brand presence, drive commercial growth, and maximize profitability in international markets. This is a freelance role with significant autonomy and responsibility for shaping go-to-market strategies and building lasting industry partnerships.

Location: Remote (with 50% travel)

Duration:1 year contract

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive travel retail strategies for professional hair care brands across global airport, cruise, and border duty-free channels.
• Create compelling business cases, including go-to-market (GTM) and marketing strategies tailored to international retail environments.
• Drive commercial growth by establishing strong partnerships with key accounts such as duty-free operators, distributors, and airport authorities.
• Lead retail space planning and execute high-impact promotional campaigns to increase brand visibility and sales.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and ROI-driven decision-making in collaboration with senior leadership.
• Ensure brand consistency and excellence in assortment selection, messaging, and execution across all travel retail channels.
• Utilize market insights from the beauty, hair care, and global travel retail sectors to inform strategy and capture emerging opportunities.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, supply chain, and regulatory teams to ensure seamless operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
• Minimum of7 years’ progressive experience in travel retail, ideally within the beauty or personal care industry.
• Demonstrated expertise in international business development, strategic account management, and commercial negotiations.
• Strong experience with P&L ownership and managing key accounts at a strategic level.
• Exceptional leadership abilities with excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Fluent in English; additional language skills are highly desirable.
• Able to travel up to 50% of the time (travel expenses reimbursed).

Additional Information

• This is a remote position with frequent travel requirements.
• The assignment is for one year with weekly timecard and expense submissions accepted.
