The Remote Camera Operations Coordinator I is responsible for supporting remote production workflows through the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of technology use in home studios, field reporting environments, and remote event production. This role partners closely with Production and Operation teams to ensure seamless execution of live and recorded broadcasts.
Responsibilities- Procure, deploy, and maintain technology for home studios, field reporters, bureau reporters and bureau producers.
- Plan and execute home studio installations/removals within talent homes or facilities as needed.
- Collaborate with Production teams to support specialty needs as it relates to remote events.
- Partner with Operations Producers & Leadership to communicate workflows, technical needs, and event support requirements.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of broadcast technology, camera systems, and production equipment.
- Troubleshoot technology issues in the field and for home studios.
- Maintain accurate equipment inventory records and databases.
- Process invoices and support vendor-related administrative tasks.
- Coordinate shipping logistics between vendors and remote locations.
- Remain available outside standard business hours, including nights and weekends, as production needs require.
- Support live productions, including handling day‑of‑air technical challenges with professionalism and a solutions‑oriented approach.
- Travel domestically and internationally on short notice for production support as needed.
- Foundational knowledge of news gathering, broadcast production, and operational workflows.
- Experience with basic video production.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with production teams and on‑air talent across diverse working environments.
- High proficiency with Mac systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint).
- Working knowledge of Smartsheet and Beyond Trust (Bomgar).
- Bi‑Lingual English and Spanish is a plus.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Bachelor's Degree
- Position requires ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
The hiring range for this position in Bristol, CT is $54,000 to $72,300 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
