Position OverviewThe University of North Texas at Dallas School of Business invites applications for the Lecturer of Information Technology position starting in Fall 2026. This is a full‑time, non‑tenure track position. The successful candidate will be expected to achieve excellence in teaching and service, and to contribute to the growth of the UNT‑Dallas Information Technology program. Individuals with specific interests and experience in cybersecurity are strongly encouraged to apply.
UNT Dallas is the only public four‑year university exclusively in the City of Dallas. The School of Business has earned the AACSB International designation and has achieved many rankings and accolades. This role participates in the Campus‑wide Classroom to Career initiative, integrating experiential learning such as internships, service learning, and project‑based collaborations with industry partners into every student’s academic journey.
- Earned master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Computer Science.
- Effective writing and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using technology in teaching and teaching in multiple modalities (hybrid, online, and face‑to‑face).
- Significant academic research and/or applied experience in Cybersecurity.
This position is responsible for teaching four (4) courses per semester and participating in service activities such as program development, course development, program assessment, and committee leadership. The successful applicant will be the inaugural cybersecurity instructor at UNT Dallas, and will provide instruction in a full range of undergraduate Cybersecurity and Information Technology courses, including Foundations of Cybersecurity, Network Administration, Cloud Security, Computer Forensics, Computer Networks, and Programming.
Preferred Qualifications- Doctoral degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Academic experience working on a campus with culturally diverse students, staff, and faculty.
- Experience developing both face‑to‑face and online courses.
- Experience in curriculum development and program assessment.
- Teach four (4) courses per semester.
- Participate in service activities such as program development, course development, program assessment, and committee leadership.
- Provide instruction across a full range of undergraduate Cybersecurity and Information Technology courses, including Foundations of Cybersecurity, Network Administration, Cloud Security, Computer Forensics, Computer Networks, and Programming.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
- No adverse environmental conditions expected.
Monday to Friday 8‑5 on campus with flexible work arrangement available and the possibility of occasional remote work.
