Role Description

Department

Student Life and Wellbeing (SLaW) works to enhance all aspects of student life and experience at the University and is part of the Library, Learning, Archives and Wellbeing Directorate. The team delivers a wide range of proactive and responsive services for students to navigate the challenges and maximise the opportunities that the University provides them with. Expert and experienced help to thrive is available to all students, regardless of their background, previous experience or form of and level of study.

Our Conduct and Respect team works to promote a community of respect, by responding to reports of student misconduct - including high risk and illegal behaviours such as harassment and sexual misconduct - through appropriate procedures, the provision of specialist support, holistic risk assessment and risk management, the provision of learning interventions, and close working partnerships both internally and externally.

Role

As a Conduct and Respect Advisor, you will respond to disclosures of misconduct, providing support and guidance to those who have been impacted. You will investigate reported incidents, and assist with the resolution of cases at both informal and formal levels, including preparing cases for and presenting at Disciplinary Panel Hearings. You will provide expert advice, guidance and professional support to networks across the University and in the wider community.

You will play a key role in promoting dignity and respect at the University.

Skills, Experience & Qualification Needed

In depth knowledge of law and regulation relating to equality, harassment and sexual violence, Safeguarding, Freedom of Speech, and GDPR;
Up-to-date knowledge of the Criminal Justice System;
Understanding of the principles of natural justice;
Experience or training in investigative casework (desirable);
Training, qualification or demonstrable skill in conflict resolution, mediation or restorative justice (desirable)

Interview date : 30 June 2026
