Overview

Chemical Service Technician at a Data Center – The Dalles, Oregon. The Chemical Technician will solve customer water treatment concerns, perform extensive water treatment lab work, and troubleshoot water treatment and control equipment at a customer’s data center.

We offer an industry-competitive salary, expenses, and benefits. Compensation is based on experience and performance. First-year base pay ranges from $55,000 to $75,000 plus a year-end bonus. • Solve customers’ water problems.
• Treat industrial cooling towers to keep them energy efficient and environmentally friendly.
• Perform detailed water testing and analyses at a data center.
• Help deliver on customer KPIs and promote Garratt-Callahan solutions including proprietary chemical blends, equipment, and monitoring technology.
• Report directly to the Site Manager.
• Keep our existing customers happy and safe.

You will be a successful applicant if you have a technical degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Mechanical Engineering, Paper Science, or Water Resources. A 4-year technical degree in the sciences is required to qualify.

A successful applicant should have experience or interest in advanced water treatment technologies, be detail-oriented, adhere to safety protocols, and be able to lift 50 pounds wearing PPE in all weather conditions. One year of technical sales or related internship in water treatment chemicals is preferred, but training is available. Outside industrial sales experience is a plus. You must live in or near The Dalles, Oregon, and be familiar with the local industrial marketplace.

• Familiarity with industrial cooling towers.
• Knowledge and proficiency with lab procedures, water equipment, and water chemistry.
• Ability to provide virtual presentations to groups.
• Experience working in a team as a collaborative partner.
