This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMMs), Optical and X-ray systems, supporting customers across a variety of high-tech manufacturing environments.
What you’ll be doing .
Working within the Industrial Quality Solutions (IQS) Division, at ZEISS, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing and calibration of specialist inspection equipment at customer sites. You’ll play a key role in ensuring maximum machine uptime, delivering excellent technical support, and building strong customer relationships.
This is a field-based role working from home, with regular travel across the UK and occasional opportunities to support customers in Ireland and Europe.
Key Responsibilities Installation and commissioning of new and relocated CMM, Optical and X-ray systems
Service, calibration and preventative maintenance activities
Responding to customer breakdowns and resolving machine issues onsite and remotely
Providing first-class technical support and customer service
Diagnosing faults and escalating issues where required
Managing service documentation and reports via CRM/SAP systems
Liaising with internal teams regarding spare parts and service requirements
Supporting uptime and shift-working requests when required
Ensuring all work is completed in line with company Health & Safety procedures
What We’re Looking For Previous experience in a Field Service Engineer or Service Technician role Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
Experience working with metrology, CMM, optical inspection or precision engineering equipment would be highly advantageous
Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
Flexible approach to travel and occasional overnight stays
