Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineer

Job Title: Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineer

Location: Los Angeles, CA (in-person)

Job Type: Full Time (W-2)

Overview

Half the world still doesn't have stable Internet – want to play a critical role in changing that? Beamlink builds entire cellular networks in a matter of weeks, not years. These are built of easy‑to‑set‑up cells, called Bentocells, which address the historic bottleneck preventing carriers from expanding beyond cities. Our dynamic engineering team designs these in-house along with the firmware, software, and network architectures that make them run.

Role Description

We are looking for a Digital Signal Processing Engineer to join our team full‑time. You will work on high‑speed digital systems, FPGA development, and software‑defined radio (SDR) platforms powering Beamlink’s wireless networking products. This role involves designing complex digital hardware, developing FPGA‑based packet processing systems, and improving signal integrity and RF system performance for next‑generation telecommunications infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Design and collaborate on high‑speed digital systems, including USB 3.0, Gigabit Ethernet, and other high‑speed interfaces
  • Work with electrical engineers in Altium Designer to develop complex multilayer PCB systems with high‑speed routing constraints
  • Develop FPGA‑based systems in AMD/Xilinx Vivado, including packet processing and networking architectures
  • Build and maintain embedded systems utilizing Zynq‑based processors and programmable logic
  • Develop Ethernet packet processing pipelines and related networking infrastructure in the FPGA fabric
  • Design and debug digital interfaces, including I2C, SPI, UART, MDIO, and high‑speed serial interfaces
  • Measure, analyze, and improve signal integrity and system performance using industry‑standard validation techniques and lab equipment
  • Support bring‑up, validation, and debugging of SDR and telecommunications hardware platforms
  • Contribute to PCB layout efforts for complex BGA devices, including FPGAs and high‑speed processors
  • Work with firmware and embedded software to support hardware initialization, clocking systems, and low‑level board management
  • Participate in design reviews and collaborate closely with RF, embedded software, and manufacturing teams
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience designing and debugging high‑speed digital systems
  • Experience with FPGA development using AMD/Xilinx Vivado tools
  • Experience with FPGA‑based Ethernet switching, packet acceleration, or DSP pipelines
  • Familiarity with Zynq processors and FPGA‑based embedded systems
  • Understanding of signal integrity, impedance control, differential pair routing, and high‑speed PCB design principles
  • Experience with Ethernet systems and digital communication protocols
  • Ability to debug hardware systems using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, VNAs, and related lab equipment
  • Familiarity with clock distribution systems, PLLs, jitter analysis, and synchronization architectures
  • Basic firmware and software development skills in C, Python, or related languages
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex embedded systems
Additional

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing SDR platforms or telecommunications hardware
  • Familiarity with LTE, 5G‑, or wireless communication systems
  • Experience with complex BGA escape routing and multilayer PCB stack‑up design
  • Experience writing low‑level firmware for interfaces such as I2C and SPI
  • Experience with RF system integration and mixed‑signal hardware design
  • Exposure to production testing, manufacturing validation, or compliance testing workflows
  • Experience working in a startup or rapid product development environment
Salary/Benefits
  • Salary:
    Competitive, commensurate with experience
  • Stock options
  • Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance (free)
  • Life and Disability Insurance (free)
  • 401k benefits
  • Flexible work schedule, including the ability to work from home on certain days
  • Unlimited paid time off
  • Additional commuter stipend if Uber/Lyft is required to reach the office
  • Opportunity for growth as the company and production function scale
