The Department of Civil Engineering, Construction Management and Environmental Engineering (CECMEE), within the Steve Sanghi College of Engineering is comprised of twenty‑one full‑time faculty. We provide students with a well‑rounded, personalized education in civil engineering, environmental engineering, and construction management; with an emphasis on producing baccalaureate students who are fully prepared for professional practice upon graduation. The Department offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering, environmental engineering, project management, and construction management.

The Department of Civil Engineering, Construction Management, and Environmental Engineering (CECMEE), in the Steve Sanghi College of Engineering invites applications for a Part Time Faculty position in the Civil and Environmental Engineering (CENE) Program. We seek candidates who have a passion for teaching along with relevant education and industry experience.

The primary duties will be in‑person, remote, or hybrid classroom teaching of undergraduate courses, which may include disciplinary areas of:

• civil engineering
• environmental engineering
• geotechnical engineering
• land development
• structural engineering
• transportation engineering
• water resources

• Teaching undergraduate level courses, delivering exams, supervising students, and grading student work.

• M.S. in civil or environmental engineering, or
• B.S. in civil or environmental engineering and 5+ years of engineering experience

• Demonstrated evidence of teaching effectiveness.
• 5+ years of engineering experience.
• Ph.D. in civil, environmental, or related engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineering (P.E.)

• Advanced knowledge in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and other engineering related areas.
• Effective teaching ability at undergraduate levels.
• Curriculum development.
• Capacity to inspire students.
• Ability to manage undergraduate students.
• Ability to work well independently and in a team.
• Ability to communicate effectively highly technical content to a diverse audience.

Anticipated compensation is $2000 per credit unit or $6000 per three‑credit course. Commensurate with candidate's qualifications and related experience.
