Position OverviewWe are adding an Environmental Manager to lead and oversee environmental management practices and permitting compliance for construction projects in the Midwest region of the US and Canada. The role ensures environmental regulations are met, sustainability goals are achieved, and projects remain compliant and efficient.
LocationThis position will be based in the Lenexa, KS or Omaha, NE office, requiring travel of approximately 40%–60% of the time to construction project locations around the Midwest US.
Responsibilities- Be a subject matter expert for the Midwest Region, leading environmental compliance and permitting for assigned projects and clients.
- Identify, assess, and reduce environmental risks to the company.
- Help develop and implement environmental plans.
- Oversee and review field inspections and monitoring protocols.
- Maintain project permits, licenses, plans, and contract commitments, ensuring they are up-to-date and tracked.
- Track project data, report on environmental status, and communicate environmental costs at the project level.
- Develop and conduct environmental training across various levels within the company.
- Serve as a principal technical advisor and coordinator for environmental issues.
- Interpret and apply environmental specifications and drawings, minimizing adverse effects, and ensuring all necessary permits are in place.
- Assist projects and facilities with maintaining environmental records.
- Conduct site visits to provide technical environmental support.
- Attend field visits with clients and regulatory agencies as required.
- Liaise with the client to provide design information, schedule details, quantities, and inform them of any unanticipated discoveries, critical permitting and compliance issues.
- Minimum undergraduate degree in an environmental or engineering related field.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience leading environmental compliance for large‑scale construction projects; EPC experience preferred.
- Certifications in stormwater management, corrosion and sediment control, remediation, and/or Qualified Environmental Professional designation preferred.
- Working knowledge of state and federal environmental legislation.
- Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and initiative.

- Able to travel as required to project sites and client/Kiewit offices.
