Entry‑Level Project Engineer

This position is required to be on‑site, Monday through Friday. Hybrid or remote work options are not available. No staffing agency candidates will be considered for this position. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future. Lunda Construction Co., a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking an Entry‑Level Project Engineer to join our office in either Black River Falls, WI, or Milwaukee, WI.

Responsibilities
  • Support project teams consisting of Project Managers, Engineers, Superintendents, and field personnel.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal teams, design partners, subcontractors, and project leadership.
  • Assist with project layout and identifying critical work items and long‑lead materials.
  • Support monthly billing, cash flow forecasting, and change order processing.
  • Interpret drawings and specifications to support craft installation and field execution.
  • Review mock‑ups, shop drawings, and subcontractor scopes of work.
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance and coordinate with the QA/QC team.
  • Verify work is completed in accordance with drawings, codes, and specifications.
  • Create and process RFIs (Requests for Information).
  • Assist with schedule coordination and ensure field teams have the information needed to execute work.
  • Participate in the development and review of design and work plans.
  • Support safety initiatives, including inspections and compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and other technical tasks as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support project success.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering field.
  • Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Prior construction or heavy civil experience is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Reliable, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proactive and collaborative approach to problem solving.
  • Commitment to safety and quality.
