Data Set Research & Analysis for Correlation & Analysis Tool
Location: Remote or hybrid
Type: Part-time, 6-month internship (10-15 hours per week)
We are seeking an intern to support the creation of multiple, high-quality data sets that will serve as the foundation for a next-generation data correlation and analysis tool. This role offers the opportunity to work on projects in defense, aerospace, and electronic components, gaining valuable insights into the defense and aerospace domain and experience in data engineering and research.
Key Responsibilities- Data Research, Analysis & Curation:
- Identify, gather, and organize data related to U.S. and international defense contract awards.
- Research aerospace and defense systems, programs, and company profiles.
- Analyze and decompose system level designs to the subsystems that tier into them
- Compile detailed information on systems, subsystems, and electronic components relevant to the aerospace and defense industry.
- Data Structuring & Quality Control:
- Clean, normalize, and format raw data for consistency and usability.
- Implement processes for data validation and error checking.
- Work closely with engineering and analytics teams to understand data requirements.
- Document methodologies, data sources, and transformation processes for reproducibility.
- Analytical Support:
- Provide insights and preliminary analysis to help guide the design of the correlation and analysis tool.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering field (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Computer, or Data Engineering).
- Technical Skills:
- Understanding of database structures and data management principles.
- System level engineering and ability to create a structured system level hierarchy
- Professional Attributes:
- Strong research and analytical abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment and manage time effectively.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexible part-time schedule (approximately 10-15 hours per week).
- Remote work with access to mentoring from experienced engineers and analysts.
