We are seeking a detail-oriented Regional Direct Bill Accountant to support the accurate recording, reconciliation, and reporting of direct bill commission revenue across assigned agencies. This role plays a critical part in ensuring financial accuracy and operational efficiency by partnering with agency teams, carriers, and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, organized, and able to manage high-volume financial data in a fast‑paced environment.

This is a full‑time, fully remote position.
Professional Responsibilities- Retrieve and manage commission statements from insurance carriers via portals, e‑mail, and mail, coordinating with internal teams to resolve missing or delayed statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate posting of direct bill commissions using internal systems or outsourced partners.
- Post and reconcile commission downloads, import files, and direct bill statements to client accounts and the general ledger.
- Record commission receipts from checks and electronic deposits, ensuring accurate matching to corresponding statements.
- Perform monthly reconciliations between the general ledger and posted commission activity to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Monitor daily bank activity to confirm all direct bill commissions are recorded and discrepancies are addressed promptly.
- Collaborate with client service teams to investigate and resolve reconciliation issues and posting exceptions.
- Escalate complex or unresolved discrepancies to leadership, providing clear documentation and analysis.
- 1–3 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within an insurance brokerage environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Experience reconciling financial data, including general ledger accounts and commission activity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including working with large data sets and pivot tables.
- Experience with accounting and agency management systems (e.g., EPIC, Business Central, Benefit Point) preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.
