Working Arrangements:
Hybrid model – remote and in‑person. Employees must reside in Washington state and be within reasonable distance of the King County worksite.

As the Accounting Supervisor (BFO-IV) for the Parks Division, you will provide financial leadership and support, build productive relationships, and guide strategic accounting for King County Parks.

• Oversee accounting operations and financial reporting to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with county, state, and federal standards.
• Manage revenue collection and cash handling practices, maintaining strong internal controls.
• Serve as subject‑matter expert for accounts payable review and approval workflows, guiding resolution of complex issues.
• Lead efforts to modernize and improve fiscal processes and reporting systems to increase efficiency and transparency.
• Supervise and develop staff, partner with leadership and stakeholders to resolve complex financial issues and support audits.

• Advanced knowledge of managerial and financial accounting principles.
• Advanced, progressive experience leading an accounting team and knowledge of organizational and employee development principles.
• Proficiency with financial software and systems.
• Demonstrated quantitative analysis skills and ability to assess financial impact of alternative decisions.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, project‑management, and planning skills.
• Experience presenting financial or technical information to internal and external audiences, including senior management.

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field and at least five years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination).
• Advanced knowledge of public‑sector managerial and financial accounting and experience in financial auditing.
• Proven financial management leadership in a public‑sector or similar environment.

Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to the necessary worksite.

Remote work may be required; a County‑issued laptop will be provided.

Work schedule is full-time, 40 hours a week.
