Responsibilities

Under general direction and as a member of the local management team, this position is responsible for product quality and performance for a specific team of Specialty BI Inside claim professionals. The role includes providing guidance and direction to direct reports through continuous involvement and frequent claim file review. The position also serves as a field representative for the Home Office Inside Property CAT product when requested and reinforces the Property CAT Vision, Strategies, and Objectives.

  • Lead, mentor, manage, and develop staff.
  • Attract, retain, and develop world‑class talent through strategic recruitment, orientation, performance plans, succession planning, retention, and reward systems.
  • Provide comprehensive claim services: employ proper claim handling techniques, develop and execute a strategic file‑management plan, provide guidance to ensure engagement and accuracy, review new notices, conduct quality file reviews, and implement initiatives to improve file quality, customer service, and manage costs.
  • Leverage data, management information, and technology to identify opportunities and support business strategies (information advantage).
  • Focus on resolution and process improvement to maximize cost effectiveness; understand drivers, trends, and product stress points; help partners attract and retain business.
  • Operate within an agreed expense budget to achieve optimal business results through productivity and resource allocation.
  • Maintain effective relationships with colleagues, business partners, customers, agents, and regulatory agencies; participate in business meetings and agency visits.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Claim management experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Leadership skills: drive results, lead change, execute business strategy, attract top talent, maximize individual performance, hold others accountable, align rewards, create and sustain a dynamic workplace.
  • High school diploma or GED, and at least 3 years of claim work experience in at least one line of business.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required Insurance License(s) within 3 months of starting the job and ongoing education credits.
