Program Manager, NA P&C Insurance

You will be our Program Manager, NA P&C Insurance. In this role, you will lead and manage all aspects of several portfolios of partner P&C MGUs/MGAs/Program Administrators, overseeing a broad spectrum of programs. You will ensure the effective review of new submissions, due diligence, and ongoing management of production and profitability for these specialized areas, manage risk within appetite and underwriting guidelines, and build and maintain MGU/MGA/Program relationships.

You will report to the Head of Property and Casualty Program Management.

Responsibilities
  • Lead development of Property & Casualty underwriting guidelines and Letters of Authority for MGUs/MGAs/Program Administrators and establish standards and procedures for exceptions outside of underwriting guidelines.
  • Actively manage all Key Performance Indicators, including pricing objectives, profit improvement, and combined loss ratio results.
  • Partner with key support units—Finance, Actuarial, Claims, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and IT—to analyze issues, identify solutions, and drive execution on challenges faced by the company, partners, and customers.
  • Support development of program and ceded business documents for P&C MGUs/MGAs in conjunction with Underwriting, CUO, and legal departments.
  • Develop new P&C products, including research and development, underwriting guidelines, SERFF support, pricing, and state submissions and approvals.
  • Perform audits and program reviews, examining documents such as policies, application state endorsements, OFAC, plan documents, and other materials related to each program’s business.
  • Identify and manage portfolio-level risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Partner with Legal/Compliance on legislative and regulatory topics affecting P&C programs, including data collection for accurate reporting of taxes, assessments, and other compliance aspects of direct insurance.
  • Support corporate accounting by collecting data from individual programs: premiums, states, limits, etc.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with MGUs/MGAs/Program Administrators.
  • Monitor market and program-specific trends to ensure program performance aligns with company expectations.
  • Serve as primary contact for each direct insurance program for all administrative, underwriting, and service concerns.
  • Build and maintain relationships with support units, brokers, and reinsurers to support company goals and objectives.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports and other ad hoc reports as required.
  • Support P&C new business initiatives and triage new business opportunities appropriately.
  • Assist in training and developing staff.
  • Provide expertise on coverage issues with Claims.
  • Develop and lead marketing presentations to new and current agents/brokers.
  • Lead and ensure the successful completion of complex projects.
  • Diagnose and develop recommendations to solve unique business and customer challenges.
Qualifications and Skills
  • 10+ years of Property and Casualty Insurance experience in an underwriting and/or product role.
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to develop dynamic underwriting models and identify appropriate tools for task completion.
  • Leadership experience that drives underwriting process improvement through technology, outsourcing, or internal innovations.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and a desire to help others solve problems.
  • Confidence in your skillset, a desire to learn more, and an ability to make an impact.
  • Highly entrepreneurial: experience creating new and emerging products for rapid market entry; comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic culture.

Estimated annual salary range: $175,000 – $200,000 USD.
