Projects in the PPG lab
The PPG lab examines the development and outcomes of problems in self‑regulation, including dis inhibitory disorders, suicide and self‑harm, and related mental‑health conditions. Current research projects center on associations of self‑regulation difficulties with later‑life physical health and processes of aging. The lab’s projects involve data from population‑based administrative registers, longitudinal studies, and genetically‑informative samples (e.g., studies of twins). The lab collaborates with researchers in New Zealand, Denmark, Norway, and elsewhere.

Specifically, the lab is currently in the process of developing a new mixed‑methods study aimed at understanding LGBTQ+ individuals’ experiences with diagnosis and subsequent treatment. The incoming lab coordinator will work with Dr. Rodriguez‑Seijas and other lab members to plan and execute the study.
