Position Overview
The Sales & Customer Engagement Director is responsible for identifying, sourcing and securing business across the full end‑to‑end range of products and services Encore can deliver. The role may focus on a specific sector or region. The successful candidate will take clients through the entire sales process: outreach, consulting, RFP process and close.
Key Job Responsibilities- Prospecting & Qualifying New Accounts
- Partner with sales leadership to map assigned sectors/sub‑sectors.
- Identify, qualify and develop new opportunities to grow new logo count or extend business with existing clients.
- Build strategies and pursuit plans that involve end‑to‑end event solutions.
- Manage demonstrations to introduce Encore and its solutions.
- Align client needs with the benefits of our products and services.
- Demonstrate Encore’s experience, audience impact and ROI to position Encore as the partner of choice.
- Manage quotes, proposals, pitches and RFPs through the sales process.
- Achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets, including calls, appointments, demos and sales closures.
- Partner with experience leads and transition accounts after each sale; support future sales and new opportunities.
- Advocate solutions through speaking, networking and event attendance.
- Actively network and generate introductions to expand partnership value.
- Sales Management & Account Ownership
- Strategic consultative selling across industries, often pre‑RFP.
- Build and maintain close relationships with prospects and clients to expand revenue opportunities.
- Ensure delivery from the start and hand‑off to account teams.
- Collaborate with project delivery teams to maintain client satisfaction.
- Manage event debriefs with Account Management/Production.
- Build pursuit plans for net‑new targets and coordinate with existing account managers.
- Review data and metrics to demonstrate ROI and justify future business.
- Process repeat event orders to grow accounts organically.
- Internal Communications
- Communicate sales activity and target progress to management.
- Provide market insights to influence the development roadmap.
- Maintain up‑to‑date CRM and other systems with key intelligence.
- Collaborate with Marketing on sector‑specific campaigns.
- Review and assess pipeline health to influence revenue projections.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- 8+ years proven success in a competitive B2B sales environment.
- Experience selling virtually, by phone and/or face‑to‑face.
- Experience in the live event industry (virtual and hybrid events are a bonus).
- Strong commercial acumen and a hunger for deal making.
- Competitive spirit with a natural networking and relationship‑building talent.
- Discipline in using CRM software.
- Articulate with confident telephone manner and focused listening skills.
- Exceptional customer service standards.
- Self‑starter, self‑motivated, and able to work collaboratively.
- Travel required for face‑to‑face meetings.
