Your future role on our team
The Environment team is seeking a biologist or environmental technician to carry out field assignments to characterize and inventory natural environments as part of a wide range of projects, including energy, mining, infrastructure and linear projects. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team and collaborate closely with project leaders and managers during fieldwork planning and execution.

Carry out biological and ecosystem inventories in terrestrial natural environments
Characterize natural environments such as forests, wetlands and wildlife habitats
Help with environmental studies, including impact assessments, biophysical characterizations and environmental monitoring
Collect, compile and validate field data Perform extended field campaigns lasting several consecutive days in remote regions
Help write technical reports and field notes
Work with multidisciplinary teams in biology, environment, engineering and GIS
Apply standard occupational health and safety protocols

Summary Of Certifications And
Job Requirements
Technical diploma or university degree in biology, bioecology, environmental studies, natural environments or a related field
Three to five years of relevant experience in inventorying or characterizing natural environments
Experience in fieldwork, including planning, execution and meeting deadlines
Strong technical report writing skills
Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
Availability to perform field campaigns over several consecutive days
Valid driver’s licence
Physical ability to work in natural environments, including extended walking and varying weather conditions
Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
Intermediate English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients located in English-speaking Canadian provinces and abroad; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects
Asset: knowledge of GIS tools such as ArcGIS or equivalent
Asset: experience in floristics, wetlands, terrestrial wildlife or sensitive habitats
Asset: certifications or training in environmental or remote-area safety
Asset: experience working on northern or remote-access projects
