HOMELESS HOTLINE SPECIALIST for Gov't Collaborative
Do you have experience working with underserved communities? Are you able to use active and reflective listening to build rapport, and motivational interviewing interventions to increase positive outcomes? Can you provide excellent customer service? Are you proficient in Microsoft Office and other office practices with keyboard accuracy & speed? Are you familiar with meeting federal requirements and following privacy and security requirements?
The successful candidate, along with their team members, will complete intakes and enrollments for the Stark County Homeless Navigation system over the phone and occasionally direct participant-facing interactions.

MHAR is empowered by the State of Ohio to plan, develop, fund, manage and evaluate community-based mental health and addiction services. Federal, state, and local funds ensure services are available to individuals and families in Stark County.
The Homeless Hotline Specialist works with a caseload of participants experiencing many barriers including homelessness, complex trauma, medical, mental health needs, and substance use. They provide ongoing coverage of the Homeless Navigation hotline and work with the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), Homeless Continuum of Care of Stark County (HCCSC) and the Coordinated Entry System (CES).
Requirements- Associate's degree in communication, social work, or another similar discipline, or equivalent experience required.
- Experience in phone or direct interviewing of individuals.
- Hours:
Monday – Friday 7 AM to 5:30 PM and alternating Saturdays 10 AM – 2 PM. Alternative scheduling may be available.
Application requirements: The final applicant selected for this position, prior to appointment, will be required to submit to a drug test for illegal drug use. The test site shall be chosen and paid for by the Board. An applicant with a positive test result will not be offered employment and will also be subject to any other requirements under Ohio law.
Salary: $16.50 - $18.81 per hour.
