SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Operations Technician, Metal Finisher - Rough Casting, Orchid Oregon, performs Visual & Dimensional Inspection of castings per tech card using appropriate tools including, but not limited to; hand grinding equipment, measuring tool s.

The Operations Technician, Metal Finisher - Rough Casting reports to the Celll/Cell2 Department Operations Supervisor.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Perform Visual & Dimensional Inspection of castings per tech card using appropriate tools including, but not limited to; hand grinding equipment, measuring tools.
•    Confirm discrepancies using appropriate tools including, but not limited to calipers, pin gages, measuring instruments and surface profilometers as required.
•    Rework discrepancies as allowed by tech card using appropriate tools, route to salvage operations as necessary with required documentation.
•    Review rework and scrap castings with department lead as necessary.
•    Identify and record as " Scra p" all castings that do not meet custome r specifications after rework.
•    Route "Scra p" castings to designated area .
•    Complete proper documentation as required including, but not limited to, process routing card, salvage router, scrap tags, dimensional reports, etc.
•    Perform or assist in performing training of personnel as directed by the department supervisor or lead.
•    Use hand truck, pallet jack, carts and tables to safely transport product.
•    Maintain work area, tools and equipment in a clean and organized condition.

•    Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material and any unusual conditions to the department supervisor or lead.
•    Follow designated safety rules and regulations .
•    Support Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives.
•    Perform other duties as required or directed by the Department Supervisor or Lead.

EXPERIENCE
•    Manufacturing experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
•    Ability to use adjustable measuring instruments
•    Basic understanding of interpreting dimensional call-outs, and finish specifications on prints
•    Ability to visually detect defects
•    Blue Print reading
•    Understanding of GD&T
•    Ability to run automated equipment
•    Ability to apply logic and reasoning to solve problems, including identifying strengths/weaknesses, locating alternative solutions and conclusions, and approaches to problems; and making high-quality, timely decisions

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
•    High School or equivalent

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
•    Work performed in manufacturing environment where exposure to a number of elements occurs.
•    Frequent lifting of materials up to 35#.
•    Infrequent lifting of materials between 35 and 50#.
•    Requires repetitive grasping, fingering, manipulation of materials .
•    Requires use of foot controls.
•    Use of PPE per JHA.
•    Visual acuity equal to Jaeger #2 at not less than 12" corrected or uncorrected in at least 1 eye.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
•    Candidates offered employment must submit to a pre-employment background check and pre- employment drug test
•    Candidates must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States through eVerify
•    Use of PPE per JHA
