Dance Instructor

Sherwood Dance Academy is growing, and we are looking for a positive, passionate, and dependable dance instructor to join our team for the 2026–2027 season.

We are currently seeking an instructor who can teach a combination of:

• Jazz/Lyrical
• Acro
• Hip Hop (preferred, but not required)

Our studio is a welcoming, non‑competitive environment focused on empowering students and community through dance. We value kindness, creativity, connection, growth, and creating a space where dancers feel supported and encouraged.

We already have enrolled classes ready for our 2026-27 Dance Season:

• Thursdays 4‑7pm – 3 classes, ages 6‑12
• Fridays 345‑630pm – 3 classes, ages 4‑12

There is also opportunity to start, grow, and build:

• Hip Hop program on Mondays (3 additional classes), potential for building a hiphop performance group.

We are especially interested in someone who:

• Creates age‑appropriate, family‑friendly choreography and music selections
• Connects well with both children and families
• Brings strong classroom management while maintaining a positive and encouraging atmosphere
• Wants to help build and grow programs within a community‑centered studio
• Is reliable, collaborative, and excited to be part of a supportive teaching team

Experience teaching pre, level 1, and level 2 acro and jazz classes are required.

Sherwood Dance Academy has been serving families for over 20 years in Sherwood, Oregon and is known for creating a supportive environment where dancers are encouraged to grow not only technically, but also as confident and compassionate people.
