Manufacturing Engineer II

Location: Oregon City, OR |
Shift: No Shift (United States of America)

Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer II assists in planning and designing manufacturing processes in a production facility under the direction of senior engineers. The role maximizes efficiency by improving production methods, analyzing equipment layout, workflow, assembly methods, and workforce utilization. The engineer supports program commitments, works with a team to meet milestones, and may provide limited technical guidance to junior team members.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews with internal teams.
  • Review drawings, 3D models, and specifications to facilitate manufacturability.
  • Create, request, and update documentation such as customer‑specific requirements, non‑disclosure agreements, routings, and Bill of Materials.
  • Assist in designing and managing the fabrication or acquisition of fixtures used in various processes, and ensure their successful implementation on the production floor.
  • Assist in creating Laser Marking programs, models, fixture drawings, templates, overlays, and related documentation.
  • Participate in and occasionally lead problem‑solving teams using lean manufacturing methods.
  • Collaborate with Operations Analysts to ensure data is available, monitored, and reported consistently.
  • Support implementation of management systems at the site level.
  • Participate in ensuring processes deliver site annual and strategic objectives, including OEE and VAPD performance, productivity, capacity planning, and capital investment.
  • Assist in creating Standard Work Instructions for various operations.
  • Interact and communicate with customers regarding critical details on new product launches.
  • Perform and assist in validation and revalidation activities.
  • Participate in required training delivered to the site team in support of site goals and program milestones.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (Required)
  • 3+ Years of Engineering Experience (Required)
  • 5+ Years of Engineering Experience (Preferred)
  • Experience with Orchid’s Manufacturing Process (Preferred)
  • Manufacturing Experience (Required)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) – Practice Management Institute (PMI) (Preferred)
