Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks Data Center Technicians for our Work Based Learning Program (WBLP). This 12‑month trainee program takes place in Oregon facilities. Candidates will perform server rack installations, hardware break‑fix, network troubleshooting, and incident response. They will also document processes, maintain service level agreements, and develop technical skills through formal training.
Key Job Responsibilities- Perform server rack installations and hardware break‑fix on various components.
- Resolve network issues and respond to operational incidents that impact service availability, escalating to senior technicians and management as needed.
- Serve as a contact point for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors.
- Participate in on‑call duties and scheduled maintenance and change management activities.
- Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives.
- Successfully complete the 12‑month Work Based Learning Program training curriculum, including safety certifications, technical competencies, and performance milestones.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
- Work 24/7 in an environment requiring primary responder rotation and after‑hours support.
- Operate in cramped, elevated, or noisy environments.
- Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day.
- Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitations.
- Tolerate non‑climate‑controlled environments with temperature fluctuations.
- High school or equivalent diploma.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Willingness to participate in shift rotations to support 24/7 data center operations.
- Knowledge of computer hardware components and operating systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system and coordination with managers.
- STEM classes or vocational course curriculum education.

Starting pay ranges by location:
- USA, OR, Boardman – $23.00 – $40.00 USD hourly
- USA, OR, Hermiston – $23.00 – $40.00 USD hourly
- USA, OR, PDX
170 – $23.00 – $40.00 USD hourly - USA, OR, Umatilla – $23.00 – $40.00 USD hourly
