Services Assistant - GEAR UP Outreach

• Works closely with First‑Year Program Manager to ensure student success/retention for first‑year college students.
• Tracks and follows up with students as requested by the First‑Year Program Manager.
• Supports and assists with planning and providing GEAR UP academic activities.
• Coordinates workshops and connects students to their college campus resources.
• Makes follow‑up calls and appointments as needed. Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.

• Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree plus one year of experience related to the Summary of Duties; OR any combination of education and experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling three years.
• Occasional travel may be required.

• Valid driver’s license and transportation.
• Ability to speak and translate Spanish to English is highly preferred.

• Must have basic academic knowledge as a result of the completion of a high school diploma or equivalent, and have sufficient college preparation to pursue a college curriculum.
• Must know college requirements/admissions.
• Must have social media knowledge.

• Must have good verbal and written communication skills.

• Must demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must demonstrate the ability to organize schedules, prioritize tasks, and follow through on assignments.
• Ability to interact successfully with students representing a wide range of cultural and academic experiences.
• Ability to speak and translate Spanish to English is highly preferred.
