• Implements college philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, course objectives through clinical teaching.
• Assumes responsibility for autonomous teaching loads.
• Plans clinical experiences, provides supervision and evaluation of nursing students.
• Makes self-available to staff at agencies.
• Evaluates and provides documented feedback to students.
• Available for remediation of students.
• Orients and maintains current knowledge of agency policies.
• Develops and posts written clinical assignments.
• Corrects and returns homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork.
• Contributes to development, implementation, evaluation of programs and college.
• May teach didactic course content under supervision of course coordinator.
• Keeps course coordinator informed of student and agency issues.
• Works with college administration, staff and other faculty to improve operations and student satisfaction rates.
• Participates in implementation of College Assessment Program, campus retention efforts.
• Serves as professional role model.
• Utilizes relationship skills in group problem solving, consensus building.
• Complies with all regulatory rules and standards.
• Reports to dean or assistant dean; course coordinator provides oversight.
• Handles related duties as assigned.

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
• An unencumbered professional nursing license in the state of Florida.
• At least two years professional experience within last five years in instruction as a registered nurse.
• Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not required.
• Have genuine passion for nursing, education, lifelong learning.
• Exceptional subject matter expertise with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Eager to serve students and colleagues with passion, respect and care.
• Operate with a sense of responsibility and purpose; desire to enrich colleagues, students and community.
• Illinois RN License required to teach all courses (course assignments prioritized to those currently licensed in Illinois).

• Schedule determined based on course need and clinical specialty for each 8-week session.
• Typically clinical instructors scheduled for 3–4 consecutive 12‑hour shifts over 1–2 weeks each session.
• Additional dates may not be available; clinical dates not guaranteed for every session.

Students will demonstrate nursing skills and procedures in an outpatient healthcare center. Emphasis on nursing process, community assessment, health and wellness.

Pay transparency: expected compensation rate between $1,120 per assignment to $7,245 per assignment depending on credit hour assigned to the course.
