Job Overview:
The After School Associate is a part-time position ideal for high school students interested in gaining experience in a supportive, educational environment. The role involves assisting with after-school activities, helping younger students with their homework, and ensuring a safe and positive atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with supervising students during after-school activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Help enforce school rules and guidelines to maintain a positive environment.
- Offer help to younger students with their homework, guiding them through their assignments.
- Encourage good study habits and a positive attitude towards learning.
- Help organize and participate in fun, educational, and recreational activities, such as games, arts and crafts, and sports.
- Assist with setting up and cleaning up materials and equipment for daily activities.
- Communicate effectively with students and staff, working as part of a team to support the after-school program.
- Provide updates to the Program Director or School Coordinator as needed.
- Help keep the after-school space tidy and organized.
- Ensure that materials and supplies are ready for each activity.
- Be a positive role model for younger students, helping to create an inclusive and respectful environment.
- Address any minor behavioral issues with patience, under the guidance of senior staff.
- Follow all safety rules and guidelines to keep students safe.
- Report any safety concerns to the Program Director or School Coordinator.
- Must be a high school student (preferably in junior or senior year).
- Interest in working with younger children.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Responsible, dependable, and positive attitude.
- Ability to balance this role with school responsibilities.
Part-time, Monday through Friday, typically from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM or as needed.
