Responsibilities

The Mission Command Subject Matter Expert (SME) I supports the Integration and Test team on the Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability (JLCCTC) program by providing Mission Command domain knowledge for testing, troubleshooting, training, fielding, and exercise support. This role works with test engineers, software engineers, systems engineers, cyber, configuration management, training personnel, and other stakeholders to verify Mission Command system behavior, identify issues, support defect analysis, and help confirm that JLCCTC capabilities meet user and mission needs.

  • Provide Mission Command subject matter expertise for JLCCTC testing, integration, training, fielding, and exercise support.
  • Support Mission Command areas involving Army Mission Command Information Systems such as AFATDS, AMDWS, MMC-S, JBC-P, CPCE, DDS, ATAK, GCCS, and related systems.
  • Assist with test planning, test execution, test case review, and validation of expected Mission Command system behavior.
  • Help identify, document, and analyze issues found during integration events, point‑to‑point testing, regression testing, fielding, training, and exercises.
  • Support PTR analysis by providing Mission Command context, expected behavior, reproduction steps, and recommended priority or impact.
  • Support troubleshooting of JLCCTC Mission Command issues during lab, fielding, training, and exercise events.
  • Support Mission Command concurrency efforts by helping assess impacts from updated Army Mission Command baselines, interface changes, and operational needs.
  • Assist with the development and review of Mission Command training materials, SOPs, user guides, test documentation, and functional procedures.
  • Train and mentor team members on Mission Command workflows, system use, troubleshooting steps, and operational use cases.
  • Communicate technical and Mission Command issues clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Participate in reviews, working groups, risk discussions, and planning meetings as needed.
  • Support domestic and international travel to military installations for testing, fielding, training, or exercise support.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related technical discipline, or equivalent military/DoD operational experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience supporting DoD programs, military operations, Mission Command systems, modeling and simulation, training exercises, integration and test, systems engineering, or related work.
  • Experience with Army Mission Command systems such as AFATDS, AMDWS, MMC‑S, JBC‑P, CPCE, DDS, ATAK, GCCS, or related systems.
  • Experience participating in military constructive or simulated training exercises as an operator, observer/controller/trainer, Mission Command SME, or support team member.
  • Knowledge of military unit hierarchy, organization, staff functions, Mission Command workflows, and operational processes.
  • Experience working with technical teams to analyze issues, explain expected system behavior, and support validation or verification activities.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to brief findings, recommendations, risks, and issues to team leads, program leadership, customers, or stakeholders.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one;
    Top Secret preferred.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally to military installations in support of JLCCTC program activities.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience with JLCCTC, WARSIM, or similar constructive modeling and simulation software.
  • Prior experience with the U.S. Army Mission Command Training Program, Mission Command Training Complexes, Warfighter exercises, or constructive simulation environments.
  • Experience supporting fielding, site training, integration events, point‑to‑point events, or military exercises.
  • CompTIA Security+ or other DoD 8140/8570 certification, as applicable to assigned system access.
