Position: BUILDINGS GROUNDSKEEPER A
Are you hands-on, reliable, and ready to help keep LYNX facilities and bus stops looking their best? We're looking for a Buildings & Groundskeeper A to join our team and support the essential services we provide to the community!

What You'll Do

* Operate and maintain heavy floor‑care equipment
• Sweep, scrub, strip, and polish floors; shampoo carpets
• Perform light maintenance: replace bulbs, basic repairs
• Support upkeep at bus stops and shelters: lawn care, trimming, trash pickup
• Help set up rooms and move furniture for special functions
• Paint interior and exterior spaces
• Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

What You Bring

* High school diploma or GED
• 1 year of custodial experience including floor care
• 6 months of painting experience
• Valid Florida driver's license + clean driving record
• Ability to work independently, follow directions, and communicate effectively
• Commitment to excellent customer service

Additional Details

As a member of a bargaining unit, this position follows a seniority-based system for bidding on shifts and days off.

Position is mission-critical during emergencies or disasters.
Must be available for varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Hourly Pay Rate: $21.55

* Description:

This position is responsible for floor care at LYNX facilities and for performing a variety of maintenance, repair, and custodial services at LYNX bus stops, transfer centers, transit/passenger amenities, and facilities. This position takes directions from a facilities maintenance manager, supervisor, or lead. Incumbent in this position is eligible to participate in the Bloodborne Pathogen Program.

As a member of a bargaining unit, this position follows a seniority-based system for bidding on shifts and days off.

Essential Functions:

Operates and maintains heavy floor care equipment used in work.
Sweeps, scrubs, strips and polishes floors; shampoos carpeting.
Performs basic preventive maintenance services and lawn maintenance around bus shelters and bus stops (trims trees, edges, and picks
up trash).
Sets up furniture and prepares rooms for special functions.
Moves and arranges furniture and office equipment.
Replaces light bulbs and fluorescent tubes.
Paints interior and exterior of facilities.
Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.

Required Qualifications:

High School diploma or General Education diploma (GED); plus
One year of full‐time experience performing custodial work to include floor care; plus
Six months of experience painting the interior and exterior of buildings, or a combination of related education, experience, and training.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license and safe driving record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of basic lawn maintenance and associated tools.
Knowledge of custodial and floor care methods, materials, equipment, and safety procedures.
Ability to work with minimal supervision; must be self‐motivated and able to work independently.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with those
