The Role

The Global Services team at National Instruments is looking for a talented Engineering Project Manager.
You will join a highly experienced, growing team and manage the definition, development, and delivery of custom integrated test systems for some of NI’s largest customers.
You will also help the team evolve and expand by creating and refining tools and processes and influencing specialization areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for successful delivery of systems integration projects
• Act as primary contact for the customer and account manager throughout the project; negotiate scope/schedule changes
• Identify and document customer requirements as needed; work with project team to identify solution and estimate solution cost and timeline
• Lead project analysis on resource, schedule & budget planning and risk assessment
• Organize project review meetings and present slides to pursue decision from key stakeholders
• Accurately identify and communicate internal and external customers’ needs
• Collaborate with resource manager to ensure appropriate staffing on projects
• Influence and make decisions about scope, schedule, and resources for project
• Monitor and report out to stakeholders on project costs, status, quality; escalate issues when necessary
• Drive process and tool improvement efforts; help define and structure specialization areas for the team
• Identify and develop detailed statements of work and interact with partners, vendors and customers
• Coordinate project development plan with partners and vendors
• Coordinate NI system development and deployment activities at customer sites, ensuring deliverable meet customer requirements
Position Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related discipline
• 5+ years’ experience working on systems integration projects for test, measurement, or automation
• Semiconductor test or 4G/5G telecom industry background is highly desirable.
• Experience as project manager of large enterprise engineering projects
• Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally up to ~30%

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience communicating with various stakeholders and clients from sole contributor to Executive across multiple disciplines - Engineering, Sales, Clients
• PMP or other Project Management certification is a plus
• Previous exposure to National Instruments hardware and software, first-hand experience using them preferred
• Strong technical and executive communication skills
• Strong understanding of business concepts such as pricing, costs, margins, terms and conditions preferred
