Aecon Nuclear provides a full spectrum of Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) services, in addition to maintenance and manufacturing services tailored to meet the demanding requirements of the nuclear power industry.

Aecon has been awarded an Extended Services Master Services Agreement (ESMSA) with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) for projects at both the Pickering & Darlington Nuclear Generating Stations.

This position provides leadership and alignment for all activities related to project planning, execution, delivery and closeout. The incumbent is the primary point of contact to ensure a consistent, deliberate, and clear methodology is used for key decisions, and the advancement of deliverables within the scope of work.

What You’ll Do

Business Development

Prepare short‑ and long‑term projections and forecasts for identified projects

Prepare project revenue targets and budgets and update as required

Develop business opportunities as they apply to the account

Maintain a firsthand business relationship with customers at decision‑making levels

Proposal and Estimating

Establish strategies for the success of proposals

Participate in the understanding of final proposal pricing

Contribute to the preparation and delivery of all proposal documents

Conduct risk analysis, including review of Terms and Conditions, pre‑bid recommendation forms, PRC and chair pre‑bid meetings

Participate in the negotiation of the proposal toward award

Project Execution

Identify threats to project delivery and establish suitable counter‑measures

Determine resources required to execute projects

Facilitate project turnover meetings and foster information exchange from the proposal team

Select the management and supervision team to execute the projects

Assume ultimate responsibility for execution of work in terms of safety, project management strategies, schedule, cost, manpower and client communications

Own financial, accounting, and reporting responsibilities for the project

Perform post‑job analysis of all major projects

Manage claims to their ultimate settlement

Manage construction work package planning and all project coordination aspects

Ensure project delivery and conduct informal safety inspections as per Red Book training

Provide supervisory guidance to project personnel and prepare succession plans

Ensure all employees are fully trained for their roles

What You Bring To The Team

Undergraduate degree in Engineering or a technical college diploma, or an equivalent combination of technical training and related experience

5‑10 years of experience in project execution

2‑5 years of Project Management related experience

Experience coordinating/managing Engineer‑Procure‑Construct (EPC) work

Ability to coordinate a construction project successfully

Knowledge of all aspects of construction, including technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements, jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, scheduling, and safety requirements

Excellent communication, organizational, and supervisory skills

High proficiency in standard computer programs

Experience preparing and delivering project reports in writing and verbally, including presentations to stakeholders

Experience in a nuclear facility, including within zoned areas and containment if required, and advanced knowledge of relevant tools or methodologies

P.Eng and/or PMP considered an asset

Experience in N286 quality and execution projects

Experience in planning and executing EPC projects

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment

Sound judgment and confidentiality

Collaborative and customer‑focused mindset

Adaptability and continuous improvement orientation
