The world relies on HPS to continually conceive and produce state‑of‑the‑art transformer technology. We currently have an opening for a Network & Security Analyst – Co-op position.
Reporting to the Manager, Networking & Cybersecurity, the Network & Security Analyst Co‑op Student helps improve the reliability, organization, and security of HPS network services. The Network Security Co‑op Student supports the Network Security team with day‑to‑day network and security operations, documentation, monitoring, and project assistance. This is a 4‑ or 8‑month Co‑op position starting in May 2026.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with basic troubleshooting for connectivity, VPN, wireless, firewall, DNS/DHCP, and access‑related issues.
Review assigned tickets or alerts, collect required information, document findings, and escalate when needed.
Update network diagrams, asset lists, firewall/VPN documentation, site information, and standard operating procedures.
Help keep records accurate so the team can troubleshoot faster and support audits.
Assist with routine administrative tasks in approved security and network platforms under supervision.
Support user onboarding/offboarding checklists, password vault documentation, and access review preparation.
Support network/security projects such as switch and firewall work, site standardization, security tool rollout, and remediation tracking.
Help test changes, record results, and update action logs.
Prepare basic reports, meeting notes, KPI updates, and follow‑up lists for the Network Security team.
Identify documentation gaps or small process improvements and review them with the manager.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled as a student pursuing a degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a similar field.
CompTIA Security+, introductory networking or security coursework and/or CCNA would be an asset.
Basic understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN, firewalls, switching, wireless, and network troubleshooting.
Interest in cybersecurity, IT operations, and network reliability.
Comfortable using Microsoft Office, ticketing systems, documentation tools, and technical checklists.
Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, ability to follow instructions, and ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
Occasional support for HPS sites may be required with manager approval.
