Become a vital part of the Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences as a Registered Nurse in the Forensic Program. Focus on recovery-oriented care for patients with complex mental health conditions through a compassionate approach.
This role encompasses delivering high-quality nursing care in a secure forensic environment with 138 inpatient beds. Engage actively in an interprofessional team, handle charge nurse duties, and may apply for the Patient Care Facilitator position. Maintain close adherence to the College of Nurses standards and promote best practices in mental health nursing.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver specialized care for patients in forensic settings
• Participate as a team member in multidisciplinary approaches
• Conduct thorough clinical assessments and documentation
• Model recovery philosophy in daily interactions
• Lead nursing initiatives and provide preceptorship
Requirements:
• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Basic Cardiac Life Support and CPR certification
• Familiarity with mental health laws and practices
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Experience with psychiatric nursing preferred
