Accounting Generalist

Position: Full-Time Accounting Generalist
SGL is looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Generalist to support the accounting department in Ottawa. Join a team focused on accounting practices and principles in a permanent, full-time role.

In this role, you will report to the Accounting and Administration Manager while managing accounts payable, reconciling employee expense accounts, and maintaining various branch bank records. Your sound knowledge of accounting software, such as Sage and Excel, will be advantageous. The position involves following strict internal approval processes, resolving accounting discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full Accounts Payable cycle efficiently

• Reconcile complex employee expense accounts accurately

• Correspond with employees about confidential information

• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies diligently

• Ensure compliance with internal procedures and policies

Requirements:

• Postsecondary education in accounting or equivalent experience

• Strong knowledge of accounting practices and software

• High attention to detail and accuracy needed

• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively

• Excellent communication skills in writing and speaking
