Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Professional-level language skills in both English and French.
  • Master’s degree in Translation or Translation Studies, membership in a recognized association or order of professional translators with English and French as working languages, and/or equivalent academic and professional experience.
  • Extensive professional experience in French to English or English to French translation, preferably in Canada.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Canadian language industry, including various employment profiles, important organizations, and professional standards.
  • University-level teaching experience is an asset
  • Duties:

  • Deliver lectures and manage classroom activities and assessments in both English and French.
  • Build and maintain a site for the course in the university’s learning management system.
  • Integrate discussions of and/or exercises with appropriate technological tools in the course content, with reference to selected technologies and resources provided by the School.
  • Coordinate with the Chair/Program Coordinator and colleagues to maintain program learning outcomes and coherence, while maintaining academic freedom
  • Additional Information and/or Comments:

    This course will be offered in person.

    An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
