Engage students in linguistic diversity as a part-time instructor for the World Languages in Contact course at the University of Ottawa. If you have a PhD in world languages, this is your chance.
The University of Ottawa is looking for a part-time instructor for the Fall 2026 term for the LCM
3102 course.
Your role will focus on teaching language relations, sociolinguistic approaches, and intercultural translation. The course will be offered in person, and you’ll share your expertise during each session with a maximum of 45 students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach World Languages in Contact course effectively
• Explore linguistic diversity and sociolinguistic methodologies
• Engage students in discussions on language politics and history
• Facilitate analysis of minority language usage
• Guide students in intercultural translation practices
Requirements:
• PhD in world languages and literatures or equivalent
• University teaching experience required
• Expertise in linguistic diversity and policies
• Bilingual in French and English
• Strong focus on cultural expressions in media
