The EXFO Service Assurance Solutions Engineer is a seasoned professional who has extensive technical experience supporting the sales efforts for high-value, IP-based, networking solutions at multiple levels within various fixed line and wireless telecommunications service providers. Highly developed organizational and people skills are a must as you will be establishing and maintaining long-term relationships with large, high profile accounts. This position requires a person who can display strong knowledge in a number of technologies, can operate under minimal supervision, is a self-motivated, fast learner, and is highly competent in communicating technology concepts with customers, partners, sales, and fellow employees.
Deliver product, services and consultative support to prospective and existing clients
Own entire pre-sales technical cycle, including assisting sales manager in closing the sale.
Meet or exceed regional support, sales, and business development objectives in collaboration with the regional sales team.
Use technical and business writing skills used to respond to technical portions of new business proposals, e.g. RFP/RFI.
Provide Pre-Sales product Proof of Concept (POC) oversight to ensure client is successful with products and understands product capabilities. This includes planning, staging, installing, and managing the POC process.
Develop and deliver product presentations at customers, conferences and other venues as required.
Provide relevant customer feedback to corporate: features, futures, issues, success stories, and competitive field intelligence.
Provide network analysis and design at all levels.
Manage customer sign-off of installations, and professional services to ensure related revenues can be invoiced.
Post sales installation, implementation, documentation, integration, and troubleshooting of EXFO Service Assurance products.
Own assigned accounts from an overall customer satisfaction perspective
Strong Pre-Sales Engineering experience (5 years) Telecom carrier – Fixed Line and Wireless Worked for data/voice products or OSS software company Has worked in a remote/work at home office environment (a plus)
Technically competent in the following areas: Distributed computing and design Unix (Solaris or Linux) Large databases (Oracle a plus) IP based Voice, Data, and Video Network design and architectures IP Network protocols: TCP/IP, MPLS, RTP, SIP IPTV protocols: IGMP, RTSP, VoD Wireless protocols: 2G, 3G, 4G/LTE Professional service experience with Java, SOAP, Perl, or XML (a plus) Familiar with network monitoring and/or test tools High degree of knowledge of IP network design principles including VLAN implementation, subnetting, VLAN trunking, and inter-VLAN routing Familiarity with IP routing protocols including RIPv2, ISIS and BGP Knowledge of softswitch network design and service delivery including VoIP Hands on implementation experience
