Automation & Control Systems Engineer

Indra is looking for a talented Automation & Control Systems Engineer (VA Implementation) to join our team in Kansas. In this role, you will design, implement, and optimize advanced automation solutions, working directly on production systems in a high-impact industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Program, configure, and deploy PLC-based automation systems (Siemens preferred)

• Integrate control systems into production lines and plant operations

• Interface with SCADA systems, vision systems, and industrial platforms

• Perform system commissioning, testing, and optimization

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on-site

• Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams

• Create technical documentation and deliver user training

Required Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship (required due to government/defense project work)

• Active passport required

• Strong experience with Siemens PLC programming (TIA Portal)

• Background in industrial automation and production systems

• Ability to work independently in fast-paced, high-reliability environments

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SCADA systems and industrial integration

• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (OPC UA, Modbus)

• Experience with automated inspection or vision systems

• Spanish language skills (a plus)

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or technical certification in Automation, Robotics, Electronics, or related field

• Minimum 3+ years of PLC programming and industrial automation experience

• Experience commissioning and optimizing industrial systems
