Overview
Postdoctoral Researcher in Somatic Evolution — Radcliffe Department of Medicine, MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, John Radcliffe Hospital, Headington, Oxford.
We have an exciting opportunity to join Dr. Verena Körber’s research group, focusing on somatic evolution. You will take the lead in developing advanced in vivo experimental model systems to monitor clonal dynamics in health and disease. As a member of an interdisciplinary research team, you will work closely with computational researchers and clinical collaborators, using cutting edge in vivo barcoding systems, CRISPR-based gene editing tools and next generation sequencing techniques to quantify somatic evolution over time and across differentiation states.
Responsibilities- Lead development of advanced in vivo experimental model systems to monitor clonal dynamics in health and disease.
- Collaborate with computational researchers and clinical colleagues to integrate in vivo barcoding, CRISPR-based gene editing, and next generation sequencing to quantify somatic evolution over time and across differentiation states.
- PhD/DPhil in Biology or a closely related field, with relevant research experience.
- Experience with mouse models of hematopoietic malignancies, in vivo barcoding systems including transplantation experiments, and single cell sequencing techniques (essential).
- Familiarity with statistical programming languages (R, Python) would be desirable.
This full-time, fixed-term position is funded by Cancer Research UK and is available until 30 September 2029.
The closing date for this position is noon on 17 June 2026.
