Human Resources Assistant Manager – Flex Rack Center, North Jackson, OH.
Supervisor: HR Director. FLSA Status:

In-Office.
This Human Resources Assistant Manager will assist with executing the organization’s overall risk and safety strategy functions while supporting Human Resources management activities throughout the organization. The role reports to the HR Director or a designated manager and will work in North Jackson, OH from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm (Monday–Friday) with up to 5% travel.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. and the company does not sponsor visas at this time.
Responsibilities- Works with the HR team to address employment relational issues under the HR Director.
- Works with HR and Safety teams regarding ADA, FMLA, FLSA, workers’ compensation, hiring procedures, job requirements, training, light duty assignments.
- Assists with new employee orientations and onboarding processes.
- Assists with developing and updating HR and company policies and procedures.
- Provides support for human resources related activities.
- Manages employee time and attendance as a collaborative partner to the HR Generalist.
- Under the direction of Human Resources, audits and assists in the development and implementation of procedures involving employee safety and training according to federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintains employee records of training, performance and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitates site inspections and maintains safety inspection records.
- Facilitates regular and as‑needed safety meetings and committee meetings.
- Maintains and stocks safety and first aid supplies.
- Coordinates the Emergency Response plan and works with the Sr. Safety Manager to maintain Emergency Code processes for the organization.
- Assists the Sr. Safety Manager with ad‑hoc safety compliance reports.
- Investigates and determines root causes for employee and non‑employee safety incidents; reviews with Sr. Safety Manager and follows up on corrective actions and preventative measures.
- Maintains regular attendance in accordance with the company’s attendance policy and supervisory assignment.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by management.
- Preferred graduation from an accredited college or university with studies in Human Resources, Business or Occupational Safety.
- Minimum 5 years experience in HR & Safety.
- Time & Attendance management experience preferred.
- Preferred OSHA certification in General or Manufacturing Industry.
- CPR/FA & AED trained.
- Experience conducting adult training.
- Experience researching, developing, and implementing safety policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with Federal, State, and Local regulations pertaining to employment, OSHA, workers’ compensation, ADA, FMLA, and FLSA.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Adept problem‑solver; able to identify issues and resolve them in a timely manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to communicate clearly and with a keen sense of discretion and confidentiality.
- Stationary position: frequently remains stationary up to 90% of the time and sitting up to 8 hours in a day.
- Move/Traverse: infrequently bend, stand, stoop and/or walk.
- Carry Weight: infrequently carry or lift objects (light to heavy) weighing up to 10 pounds.
- Hearing and Speech: frequently communicate with the ability to hear and talk on a regular basis with employees, coworkers, and all personnel matters; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Sight: frequent use of sight to detect images on computer, office documents, and office objects near and far.
- Climb: occasionally ascend/descend stairways to get to office upper and lower floors.
- Travel: up to 5% as needed.
- Regular professional, office business setting.
- Noise level ranges from low to moderate (if in office setting).
- Noise level ranges from moderate to high (if on construction worksite).
- Under the Office Mobilization Plan (OMP) policy, the role may transition to an onsite or hybrid arrangement as determined by business needs and the Head of Department.
