Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Engineering Tech 2/3 to join the team of qualified individuals. Position is located in either Palmdale, CA or Edwards AFB, CA.

The candidate will work within a technical team responsible for the building, integration, test and maintenance of communications hardware in laboratory and field settings ranging in complexity from single rack of equipment to 10+ racks and will provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build systems using engineering drawings, configuration & recovery documentation
  • Support startup & shutdown procedures, ATP/Delivery, as well as post-delivery support
  • Support the build and installation of custom cables and wire harness assemblies as well as tray assemblies from engineering drawings and interconnect diagrams
  • Produce engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics)
  • Perform detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas, conducting preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency and quantitative judgments concerning technical data
  • Travel up to 25% may be required with occasional surge travel periods of up to 40%

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position.

Qualifications For Level 2
  • Engineering Technician 2:
    High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related professional/military experience
Basic Qualifications For Level 3
  • Engineering Technician 3:
    High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years of related professional/military experience
Basic Qualifications For Both Levels
  • Must have an active US Government clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
  • Note:

    SAP/PAR will be upgraded once selected candidate is in role. Therefore, candidate must also be able to obtain and maintain upgraded SAP/PAR.
