The world’s leading performance EV boat builder is expanding its team. Be part of a forward‑thinking, innovative organization shaping the future of EV Marine, with opportunities across North America and around the globe. Explore a career with Voltari Electric & help us drive the next generation of high‑performance EV marine technology.

TEAM MEMBERS AT VOLTARI ELECTRIC CANADA IN FRONT OF A PATROL 26

Voltari Marine Electric is seeking an Autonomous Systems Engineer, reporting directly to our CTO, to lead our Marine Intelligence & USV innovation strategy and team.

Voltari is redefining electric performance and autonomy on the water. We’re developing next‑generation unmanned and optionally manned surface vessels (USVs) engineered for coastal surveillance, defense, and advanced data operations. We’re seeking a world‑class Autonomous Systems Engineer to help us push those boundaries — combining elegant control systems with robust, real‑world performance at sea.

As Voltari’s autonomous lead, you’ll take ownership of our intelligent vessel control ecosystem, from perception and navigation to security and mission coordination. Working hands‑on at our Gulf Coast shipyard, you’ll drive the integration, testing, and deployment of cutting‑edge autonomy systems that operate safely and effectively across manned and unmanned configurations.

Supervisor:
Chief Technology Officer

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead architecture and development of autonomous navigation, perception, and decision systems for Voltari’s USV platforms.
  • Collaborate with marine, electrical, and software teams to create systems that operate reliably across maritime conditions.
  • Oversee real‑world testing, validation, and field trials of autonomous and remotely operated vessels.
  • Develop and secure remote operation networks, data management pipelines, and communications systems.
  • Design safety layers, redundancy protocols, and cybersecurity strategies for mission‑critical environments.
  • Contribute to product roadmap and defense‑oriented applications (including compliance and security frameworks).
  • Mentor internal teams on best practices in autonomy, AI/ML integration, and human‑machine teaming.
Primary Requirements
  • Deep expertise in autonomous systems, robotics, or vehicle control software — ideally spanning both perception and decision layers.
  • Proven experience building and deploying autonomy stacks in real‑world environments such as robotics, aviation, or mobility systems.
  • Proficiency in AI and related programming languages, and sensor technologies (such as LIDAR, RADAR, SONAR).
  • Understanding of secure comms, data handling, and mission operations.
  • Comfort bridging theoretical machine learning with hardened, testable systems.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Robotics, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Eligibility for work on projects subject to U.S. Government defense frameworks (or similar).
  • Hands‑on engineering mindset, excellent problem‑solving, and leadership in cross‑disciplinary technical teams.
  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to work in the USA, based in Panama City, Florida.
Optional / Preferred Requirements
  • Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Active or recently held U.S. security clearance, with eligibility for reactivation.
