This travel role focuses on Progressive Care (PCU) and Oncology nursing within a mixed acuity unit, offering exposure to trauma, complex oncology diagnoses, and specialized therapies such as chemotherapy administration. Your daily impact will be enhanced by a supportive environment that values teamwork, respect, and compassion, empowering you to make a true difference. Schedule/Hours:
- 36 hours per week, 13-week assignment
- 12-hour shifts (variety: days, nights, partial coverage)
- Every other weekend required
- Active RN license and minimum 1 year recent PCU and Oncology experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy certification required
- Willingness to take and pass an open book skills exam (90%+ required)
- Driver's license for compliance with travel requirements
- Ability to float to PCU or Med-Surg units as needed
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and patient-centered focus
- Provide specialized care for adult oncology and trauma patients
- Titrate drips (insulin, cardizem), administer chemotherapy, manage IV pumps, and use specialty lift equipment
- Perform ventilator and advanced hemodynamic monitoring (training provided)
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including PT/OT, case managers, educators, and social workers
